The following job titles are employment positions within the Probation Department.
Upon a successful background investigation, all candidates (Probation Aide, Probation Assistant, and Deputy Probation Officer) will be required to attend a 4 week, 40 hour training class, currently scheduled Monday through Friday between 8am-5pm.
Under general supervision performs professional work in the investigation of adult offenders or juvenile court referrals; supervises probationers; participates in the institutional care, custody, treatment, and counseling.

Under supervision, learns to apply the principles and techniques of probation work; supervises and counsels individuals detained in, committed to, or sheltered in one of several County juvenile institutions; supervises minors assigned to Work Project; and provides close supervision of minors placed on home supervision.
