Sworn Positions

Probation Aide

Under close supervision, Probation Aides learn to apply the principles and techniques of probation work; supervise and counsel individuals detained in, committed to, or sheltered in one of several County juvenile institutions; supervise minors assigned to Work Project; and provide close supervision of minors placed on home supervision.
 
Probation Aide is a temporary, on-call class. No permanent appointments will be made from eligible lists for this class. Appointments to Probation Aide positions require the employee to be immediately available. Regardless of time.

Probation Assistant
 
Under supervision, learns to apply the principles and techniques of probation work; supervises and counsels individuals detained in, committed to, or sheltered in one of several County juvenile institutions; supervises minors assigned to Work Project; and provides close supervision of minors placed on home supervision.
 
 
 
Deputy Probation Officer
 
Under general supervision performs professional work in the investigation of adult offenders or juvenile court referrals; supervises probationers; participates in the institutional care, custody, treatment, and counseling.
 
 
Non-Sworn Positions
 
Laundry Worker
Positions in this class are used in a juvenile institution. Under supervision, operates laundry equipment to collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute clothes and laundry.
 
Food Service Cook
Under general supervision, prepares, bakes, cooks and serves food; maintains food inventory and storage; maintains sanitary working conditions; and may provide direction to subordinate staff and/or institutional workers.
 
Food Service Worker
Under supervision, assists in preparing and serving food; cleans and maintains kitchen facilities.
 
Office Assistant Level I/II
Classes in this series provide a wide range of clerical/operational support involving customer service, document preparation, filing and record keeping, and other regularly performed duties which support the function of an office operation.
 
Information Technology Analyst Level I/II
Under supervision, incumbents perform a variety of professional, technical and analytical duties in the operation of enterprise, client/server and desktop computer systems and networks. The duties include work in the areas of user and systems requirements and analysis, applications development and maintenance, computer systems support, network design and maintenance, and data/database analysis/administration. Incumbents will be assigned to one of the following options:

Information Technology Technician Level I/II
Incumbents in the Information Technology Technician series classes perform technical and skilled duties in the operation of enterprise, client/server and desktop computer systems and networks. Included are multiple on-line network systems, auxiliary consoles and peripheral equipment on electronic computer systems. Incumbents at all levels may work on a project team.
 
Administrative Service Officer I
Performs a wide variety of administrative support staff duties involving budgets, policies, procedures, organization, planning, contracts, facilities, systems, equipment, supplies, personnel and special projects.
 
Accounting Technician
Under general supervision, work involves responsibility for technical accounting work in reviewing and recording financial transactions within established systems and procedures. Some positions function in a technical capacity; other positions are required to perform supervisory, as well as technical duties.
 
Accounting Clerk Level I/II
Positions in this class are responsible for a variety of clerical accounting duties involving the preparation, maintenance, review, auditing, and processing of financial and statistical records, reports, and claims.
